Does Danger Stamp read my emails and chats?

Nobody at Danger Stamp ever reads them. The extension sees what's on your screen, like your browser does, and checks it right on your computer for words and phrases that often mean a scam: a payment request, a code, a link, or a first message from someone you've never talked to. Ordinary messages never leave your computer.

On Free, nothing you read ever leaves your computer. On Pro, once you turn AI checks on, the text of a risky page or message goes to our AI so it can understand the context and decide, with card, account and ID numbers and other people's email addresses blanked out first. We don't keep a copy on our servers. Our AI partner, TypeSafe, doesn't train its AI on what we send or share it with anyone except the services it runs on. Its privacy policy says it keeps data only as long as it needs to run the service.

You can switch email and chat checks off in one click. The full details are in our privacy policy.

What does the free plan include?

The checks on your own computer, free forever. Nothing you read ever leaves it, and the AI is never used. They catch scams that give themselves away, like fake sign-in windows, most fake login pages, forged senders and emails Gmail itself flags. When something might be a scam but needs a closer look, Free gives you a heads-up: a small Danger warning that says what it could be. It can't tell a scam from a false alarm, because that takes the AI reading the whole thing. Pro does that and stamps the scams it finds.

What if it stamps something that's fine?

Press FALSE ALARM on the red bar. You can unlock the page just this once, or tell Danger Stamp to always trust that site for that kind of warning (you can undo that any time from the extension). Telling us it got it wrong is a separate tick box, off unless you tick it.

What if I already gave a scammer something?

Every warning has a "What to do" button. Tell it what you gave them, like a password, a card number, money or access to your computer, and it shows the steps to take now. It also writes a short message you can send to someone you trust. Danger Stamp never sends it for you, and it doesn't tell anyone what you were looking at.

Can I protect my parents?

Yes. Pro Family covers up to 5 browsers. You pay, send them an invite link, and they press Join on their computer. They never see a payment screen.

Can I check a message I'm not sure about?

Yes. Select the text on any page, right-click it and choose "Check this with Danger Stamp", or paste a text message, email or chat into the Danger Stamp button in your toolbar. On Free it runs the checks on your computer; on Pro the AI checks it too. Only what you chose is checked, with card, account and ID numbers blanked out, and nothing is kept.

How is this different from my browser's warnings?

Browser warnings only know scam sites someone has already reported. Danger Stamp reads the page itself, so it can catch a fake page that went up an hour ago, and it also looks at emails, chats, comments and ads.

Which browsers does it work in?

Google Chrome on a computer for now. Other browsers and phones aren't supported yet.

What's the low-quality content warning?

A small tag on posts on X, LinkedIn, Reddit and Facebook that read like AI-written filler. It's off unless you turn it on in the extension. Click it to see why, or wave it away. It's a guess from the wording, so it's never a stamp.

Does it slow my browser down?

No. The checks on your computer take a fraction of a second, and most pages need nothing more. On Pro, the AI check takes under a second and happens in the background, so the stamp lands before you've had time to type.

Does it work on every website?

It checks every page you open, in any language, including sites that went up an hour ago. It reads email in Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL and most other webmail, chats in the web versions of WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Discord and Telegram, and comments and ads on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Some scams will still get past it, especially brand-new kinds, so if something feels off, don't pay or share a code.

Can I use it at work or with a child?

Yes. Child mode (in Settings) also checks chats for common grooming warning signs, stamps gambling sites, and speaks to a child in its warnings: a child sees ASK A GROWN-UP instead of FALSE ALARM. For an office, each person adds it to their own Chrome; Pro Family covers up to 5 browsers on one payment.
